AI Engineer – Software Development

Location: Washington, DC (Remote)

Seeking for an experienced AI Engineer – Software Development to design, develop, and implement AI-enabled solutions that improve software development, requirements analysis, and test automation processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Python, Visual Studio Code, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Selenium, Databricks, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot. The AI Engineer will work closely with business analysts, developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to build AI-driven solutions that transform business user stories into technical requirements, enhance test automation capabilities, and integrate AI into existing software development workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement AI-enabled software solutions using Python, Visual Studio Code, Generative AI, and LLMs.
• Develop AI tools and applications that generate technical requirements from current and historical business user stories.
• Integrate AI capabilities with existing test automation frameworks to assist in generating automated test cases and scripts.
• Develop and enhance test automation solutions using Selenium and AI-assisted technologies.
• Build prototypes and pilot solutions for AI-enabled requirements development and test automation.
• Leverage GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools to improve software development and automation processes.
• Utilize Databricks and related technologies for data processing, AI development, and integration activities.
• Integrate AI and automation solutions with existing applications, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Develop comprehensive training materials, technical documentation, implementation guides, and AI toolkits.
• Document process changes using established organizational standards, methodologies, and tools.

Required Qualifications:

• 2–3+ years of specialized AI development experience within technology or software development environments.
• Strong hands-on programming experience with Python.
• Experience developing solutions using Generative AI and LLMs.
• Experience with Visual Studio Code (VS Code) and modern software development practices.
• Experience using AI to support requirements analysis, technical requirements generation, or software development activities.
• Experience with Selenium, test automation frameworks, and automated test script development.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted coding tools.
• Experience with Databricks or similar data and AI platforms.
• Experience integrating AI or automation solutions with existing software applications, APIs, databases, and systems.
• Strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies.
• Ability to develop prototypes and proof-of-concept/pilot AI solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or other LLM application development techniques.
• Experience developing enterprise-level Generative AI applications or AI automation solutions.
• Experience generating or enhancing technical requirements and test cases using AI.
• Experience developing training materials, best-practice documentation, and AI adoption toolkits.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and source-control practices.
• A degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
