The Assistant Director, DevOps and Software Engineering leads a cross-functional team of engineers, report developers, and business analysts while remaining hands-on in the design and development of software solutions. This role oversees team performance, supports coaching and development, and ensures the delivery of high-quality, scalable systems. The position combines technical expertise in the Microsoft stack with DevOps practices to drive process improvements, system reliability, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly manages the Development Operations (DevOps) team of software engineers, report developer(s) and business analyst(s): Assigns, tracks and evaluates quality of workload, conducts daily, weekly, and 1:1 meetings with development team members, and supports and develops software engineers by providing advice, coaching, code reviews and educational opportunities.
- Fulfills responsibilities of the senior software engineer, including develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes and problem areas, document and demonstrate solutions with flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code, and prepares and installs solutions.
- Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
- Protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
- B.A./B.S. in Computer Science or related field (M.S. preferred).
- 4โ7 years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a senior or team leadership role.
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Experience with software design, documentation, and testing.
- Proficient in Microsoft tech stack (C#, .NET Core, Visual Studio).

- Regular use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse is necessary; reasonable accommodations will be provided upon request.
