Chief AI-Native Engineer

We're looking for a Chief AI-Native Engineer to join our team in Malaga, Spain in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will lead the development of a next-generation AI-powered financial assistant platform, driving end-to-end delivery from system design to implementation in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

You will work closely with a small, highly skilled engineering team to design, build and optimize AI-driven solutions that enhance financial workflows. This position offers the opportunity to directly influence the product while working with cutting-edge technologies, modern architectures and AI-assisted programming tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI-driven solutions for next-generation financial assistant features
• Architect and implement backend components and APIs using Python and FastAPI or similar frameworks
• Maintain high-quality, scalable systems leveraging AWS cloud, Kubernetes and Terraform for infrastructure automation
• Collaborate on frontend development with React (TypeScript) and integrated AI-driven UI components
• Apply AI-assisted programming approaches and modern engineering practices
• Gather requirements from high-level definitions, perform system design and ensure robustness across edge cases
• Work closely with engineering peers to define and iterate on product capabilities in an agile and lean setup
• Ensure automated testing, reliability and best practices throughout the development lifecycle

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong track record of end-to-end solution delivery
• Proficiency in Python (or other languages with readiness to learn Python quickly)
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI or similar Python-based frameworks
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS), orchestration tools (Kubernetes) and IaC technologies (Terraform)
• Ability to work in a startup-like environment, demonstrating ownership and autonomy
• High proficiency in identifying requirements, performing architectural design and delivering technical solutions
• Familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript and frameworks like React or Next.js for frontend work
• Knowledge of AI-assisted programming tools and coding practices
• Strong commitment to code quality, testing and continuous improvement
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with fluent English proficiency

Nice to have

• Experience building financial products or AI-enhanced digital platforms
• Familiarity with Node.js or similar technologies for backend/frontend integration
• Previous contributions to AI or machine learning-based applications
