Company Description

Our client is a boutique advisory firm specializing in defeasance — a highly technical process that allows commercial property owners to exit their mortgage loans in order to complete a sale or refinance. Led by a team with deep CMBS and CRE finance expertise, they have advised on hundreds of defeasance transactions, including some of the largest and most complex deals in the space. Their clients include commercial property owners, real estate attorneys, and lenders navigating time-sensitive transactions.

It's a niche world — and the website currently doesn't do the firm justice. That's where this writer comes in.

Engagement Details

  • Rate: $65-75/hr
  • Availability: ASAP 
  • Project-based to start, with potential for ongoing work
  • Time commitment: 50 total hours over ~2 months 

Job Description

We're looking for a skilled writer to help Paragon sharpen its content and web presence. This starts as a project-based engagement but has potential for ongoing, as-needed collaboration. The work spans several formats, so someone who can flex between web copy and longer-form content will be well-suited.

What You'll Be Working On

  • Website copy — clear, compelling copy that communicates our client's expertise and builds credibility with a sophisticated CRE audience
  • Articles and thought leadership — substantive pieces on defeasance, CMBS, and CRE financing trends
  • Marketing collateral — supporting materials that reflect the brand and speak to prospective clients
  • Email content — targeted outreach or nurture communications

Qualifications

Ideal Background

  • Strong writing experience across web, long-form, and marketing formats
  • Background in commercial real estate, finance, lending, or legal services is preferred - familiarity with concepts like CMBS, defeasance, or loan servicing will help you hit the ground running
  • Ability to take complex, technical subject matter and make it clear and credible without dumbing it down
  • Comfortable writing for a sophisticated B2B audience — think real estate lawyers, borrowers, and lenders
  • Self-directed and able to work independently on an ad hoc basis
