The Derivative Sales professional will drive client acquisition, trading volumes, and revenue growth for the exchange’s gold futures and precious
metals derivatives franchise, while also supporting business development across the physical precious metals Spot ecosystem.
You will focus on international institutional, corporate, and trading clients active in gold production, refining, and trading, positioning the exchange as a leading venue for price discovery, hedging, and liquidity in gold and related precious metals.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute a sales strategy to grow trading volumes and open interest in listed commodity derivatives whilst being knowledgeable of Spot precious trading.
- Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with key client segments. This role will focus on precious metals clients such as, trading firms, bullion banks, funds, miners, refiners and other related bullion related traders across the physical precious metals value chain.
- Analyse client activity, market share, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
- Understand client hedging, trading, and investment needs and propose solutions using listed derivatives. Collect and distribute feedback internally via Hubspot platform and presentation regular business updates to management
- Ongoing relationship management and education to clients on Abaxx pricing and solutions, leading to transactional revenue on derivatives adoption.
- Contribute to marketing campaigns, webinars, roadshows, and industry events to raise the profile of the exchange’s commodity franchise.
- Work closely with Onboarding teams to ensure a seamless client experience from onboarding through live trading.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field; a master’s degree or professional designation (e.g., CFA, FRM, CAIA) is an advantage.
- Typically, 5–10+ years of experience in gold derivatives and/or physical precious metals sales, trading, brokerage, or risk management, preferably at:
- An international derivatives exchange, FCM/broker, bullion bank, investment bank, or trading house.
- Gold futures and options, margining, clearing, and market microstructure
- Physical precious metals markets, including good delivery standards, refining and assay, vaulting, logistics, pricing conventions, and key benchmarks.
- Demonstrated track record of building and managing institutional and corporate client relationships and meeting or exceeding commercial targets.

- Major gold and precious metals trading centers and benchmarks (e.g., LBMA, COMEX, key Asian venues)

- Client Focus: Ability to understand client business models, articulate value propositions, and provide solution oriented advice.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident in presenting to senior stakeholders and at industry events.
- Analytical Ability: Comfortable using data and analytics to track performance, identify trends, and support commercial decisions.
- Collaboration: Effective team player, able to work across product, technology, risk, clearing, and operations.
- Regulatory Awareness: Understanding of the regulatory environment for derivatives trading and clearing in relevant jurisdictions.
