About Future Group

Future Group is not your traditional financial services company – we're a collective of super funds and services committed to changing our planet now for a better tomorrow. When you join us, you’ll become part of a team united by a clear and important mission: to lead the investment movement by advocating and campaigning for a future worth retiring into.

We're looking for someone to join our purpose-led, high-growth scale-up as a DevSecOps Engineer in our Tech team. And the best bit, you’ll get to work with some fantastic work mates!

Future Group values diverse lived experience and identities, and we strongly encourage applications from people of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, those with caring responsibilities, from culturally and racially marginalised groups, with disabilities, who experience ageism, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those who face social exclusion due to their social class.

We recognise that the recruitment journey may present unique challenges for trans and gender diverse folk, and we are committed to ensuring an inclusive and accessible recruitment process for all. We will happily make any reasonable adjustments to accommodate diverse needs, so if there is anything we can do to support you at any stage of your application, please let us know. For more information about DEIB at Future Group, please contact us at diversity@futuregroup.com.au.

About The Role

This is a mid-level, hands-on role across four core responsibility areas: Cloud Infrastructure Engineering (the primary technical focus), Security Operations and ISO 27001 Support, CI/CD and Deployment Automation, and Identity and Access Management.

Cloud Infrastructure Engineering
  • You build and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code, improving reliability, reducing drift, and keeping platforms clean and scalable
  • You monitor systems, respond to alerts, and improve observability so issues are caught early and handled with confidence
Security Operations & ISO 27001 Support
  • You triage security alerts, separate signal from noise, and follow through on remediation with the right stakeholders
  • You support ISO 27001 controls and audit readiness, keeping evidence, processes, and reporting in good shape
CI/CD & Deployment Automation
  • You maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines so deployments are reliable, repeatable, and low-drama
  • You strengthen pipelines with the right checks, automation, and visibility so issues are caught before they hit production
Identity & Access Management
  • You manage identity and access day-to-day, keeping controls consistent, secure, and aligned to how the business operates
  • You improve access processes and documentation so provisioning, reviews, and audits are smooth and repeatable

You'll love this job if

  • You find superannuation opaque and frustrating, if you had the chance to revolutionise the industry to be better for people, you would
  • You love sharing your ideas and seeing what happens. At this scale-up, you're not just a small fish in a big pond. Your contributions have a direct influence on our impact and how we work
  • You like to be kept on your toes - change is inevitable here. You like to tackle new challenges, and maybe even discover talents you never knew you had.
  • You like being hands-on with cloud infrastructure and the systems that actually run the business
  • You get satisfaction from making platforms more reliable, more secure, and easier to operate than they were yesterday
  • You look for ways to automate manual work and make systems more consistent
  • You’re comfortable working across cloud infrastructure and security operations, and supporting both in practice
  • You like work that keeps you thinking, whether that’s an alert, a pipeline issue, or a platform problem that needs untangling
  • You’re comfortable picking up alerts, investigating issues, and working through them end-to-end.

We're looking for someone who

  • Believes in Future Group’s mission and has a passion for moving Australia’s money out of fossil-fuels and into renewable energy
  • Believes in using the power of money to build a sustainable and equitable world
  • Has experience across cloud infrastructure, automation, and security operations, and is ready to keep deepening it
  • Is a hands-on engineer, comfortable managing day-to-day work within established patterns and under senior technical guidance
  • Can keep environments stable and secure so engineering teams can rely on them
  • Is comfortable maintaining CI/CD pipelines and improving deployment reliability
  • Can manage identity and access in a consistent, controlled way across platforms
  • Is comfortable handling first-line security triage and knows when to escalate
  • Supports security controls and ISO 27001 operations with clear, consistent evidence and processes
  • Is comfortable working with monitoring and observability tooling, and acting on what it’s telling them
  • Contributes to documentation, runbooks, and operational practices that reduce manual effort and improve consistency

Don’t tick all the boxes?- that’s okay, we like thinking outside the box anyway. We value skills, passion and who you are over what you’ve done or where you’ve studied. So if this job strikes a chord, we want to hear from you!

Why would you enjoy working at Future Group?
