Job Description:
The Field Application Engineer (FAE) is responsible for providing technical sales support across Abracon’s three lines of business: RF & Antennas, Frequency Control & Timing, and Inductors & Connectivity. The FAE will support and travel with Eastern U.S. Regional Sales Managers and manufacturer’s representatives to drive design-in activity and secure design funnel wins.
This role requires developing and maintaining strong relationships with customer and distributor technical teams within the assigned region. The FAE will communicate frequently with internal teams regarding opportunities, key regional projects, and critical technical issues. Working closely with Abracon engineering, inside sales, and cross-functional support teams, the FAE will ensure end-to-end customer support and satisfaction while driving new revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical sales support and travel with Regional Sales Managers and Manufacturer’s Representatives to support and win top regional customer projects
- Collaborate with Inside Sales and cross-functional teams to support customer opportunities and ensure alignment across Abracon
- Respond to customer requests including product cross-references, technical inquiries, and design-in support
- Coordinate directly with customers to provide design-in assistance and resolve technical issues
- Prepare and deliver technical documentation to communicate product performance, qualification data, and test results
- Provide technical and market feedback to Product Marketing to support new product development efforts
- Co-manage key customer relationships and support targeted segment development initiatives
- Conduct product training and technical demonstrations, including customer and distributor lunch-and-learn sessions
Technical Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required in Electronic / Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in at least two of the following:
- Frequency control and timing solutions
- DC/DC and/or AC/DC power supply design
- Multi-band antenna design & testing (passive & active) for IoT applications.
- RF front-end design and wireless system characterization
- Wireless modules for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GNSS, Sub-GHz, and Cellular
- LTE & GNSS hardware/firmware design experience would be a plus
- Bluetooth & WiFi hardware/firmware design experience would be a plus
Skills:
- Knowledge of MCU-based embedded design and/or power conversion design (AC/DC, DC/DC) is a strong asset
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to maximize productivity and performance; consistent adherence to deadlines and commitments are required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to:
- Professionally represent the Abracon brand and value proposition
- Communicate effectively across departments and with senior management
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to address customer needs and concerns
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a cross-functional team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and related tools
