As a Field Service Engineer III, you'll provide expert installation, maintenance, and repair services for sophisticated analytical and microscopy equipment. Working with advanced technology, you'll deliver outstanding technical support while building strong relationships with customers across research institutions, universities, and industrial facilities. A Day in the Life:
You’ll resolve complex technical issues, conduct preventive maintenance, install and repair sophisticated analytical and microscopy equipment, and train users to ensure optimal system performance while providing outstanding customer support.

What to expect:

  • Provide expert installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration services for sophisticated analytical instruments and microscopy equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers across research institutions, universities, and industrial facilities.
  • Train and support users in the effective operation of equipment.
  • Respond to urgent customer needs when required.
  • Travel approximately 25-50% to support customers.
  • Work in laboratory and cleanroom environments when required while following all applicable safety protocols.

Keys to Success:
Education

  • Advanced Degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of relevant experience. Preferred fields of study include Electronics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, or a related technical field. Ongoing technical training and certifications are required.

Experience

  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating sophisticated analytical instruments.
  • Demonstrated expertise with ultra-high vacuum systems, high voltage electronics, and complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience mentoring and training others is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities for hardware and software issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to build positive customer relationships.
  • Professional working proficiency in English; additional languages are beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems, networking, and standard business software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel 25-50%.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in laboratory environments.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong team collaboration.
  • Ability to follow all safety protocols and work in cleanroom environments when required.
