Purpose of the role

We are looking for a hands-on Full-Stack Software Engineer with strong Python backend development experience to join a fast-paced team.

The successful candidate will design and build scalable backend services while contributing to modern web applications using React and Node.js. You will also play a key role in cloud deployments, architecture decisions, and ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and production-ready.

This role suits an engineer who enjoys ownership, solving complex problems, and working across the full technology stack.

Experience and Duties

Experience: 

  • Strong experience in Python backend development
  • Experience building REST APIs and microservices
  • Solid experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask
  • Frontend development experience using React
  • Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript
  • Experience working with Node.js

  • Cloud platform experience:

  • Azure (preferred) or strong AWS/GCP experience

  • Containerisation experience with Docker

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines

  • Understanding of scalable system design and cloud architecture

 

Bonus Experience

  • Kubernetes experience (AKS or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of authentication & security best practices:
  • OAuth / OIDC / JWT
  • IAM / RBAC
  • Secrets management
  • TLS encryption
  • Observability tools (logging, monitoring, alerting)
  • Experience working in Agile product environments

 

Duties: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and services using Python

  • Build scalable RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask

  • Develop and enhance user-facing applications using React

  • Support and contribute to Node.js services where required

  • Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions

  • Implement secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-based architectures

  • Participate in CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes

  • Ensure best practices in security, performance, and maintainability

  • Monitor and improve system observability through logging and monitoring solutions
