About the Role – Grant Writer
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Grant Writer to support our organization in identifying funding opportunities, preparing compelling grant proposals, and managing the grant application process. This is a remote, contract-based role ideal for a self-motivated professional with a strong track record in securing funding from government agencies, foundations, and private organizations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Research and identify federal, state (Ohio), local, and private grant opportunities aligned with organizational goals
- Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents
- Collaborate with leadership and program staff to gather necessary data, narratives, and budget information
- Maintain a grant calendar, tracking deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and requirements
- Prepare post-award reports and maintain accurate documentation of funded projects
- Build and maintain relationships with funders and stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Grant Writer with a successful funding track record
- Strong understanding of grant funding processes, particularly within Ohio (preferred)
- Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills
- Ability to translate program goals into compelling narratives
- Experience with budget development and grant reporting
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (preferred)
Preferred (but not required):
- Prior leadership or senior case management experience
- Experience in behavioral health settings
What We Offer
- This is a 1099 independent contractor position
- Part-time
- Compensation is competitive and based on experience
- Performance-based incentives or bonuses may be offered for successful grant awards
Work Schedule
- 20 hours per week
- Flexible, project-based schedule
- Must be able to meet agreed-upon deadlines
