IT Systems Administrator – Managed IT Services Charlotte

gTECHserv is seeking a detail-oriented IT Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and improve technology environments for businesses across Charlotte. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse IT infrastructures while helping clients maintain secure, stable, and high-performing systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer Windows servers, workstations, and business applications.
• Manage Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, and user permissions.
• Monitor system performance and identify potential infrastructure issues.
• Perform server maintenance, updates, patches, and upgrades.
• Configure and maintain network devices, VPNs, and security systems.
• Manage backup systems and regularly verify recovery processes.
• Assist with cybersecurity monitoring and vulnerability remediation.
• Troubleshoot escalated technical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Support new technology deployments and infrastructure projects.
• Maintain accurate system documentation and configuration records.
• Recommend improvements to increase reliability, security, and performance.
• Provide technical guidance to clients and internal support teams.

Technology Environment

Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Intune, VMware, Hyper-V, PowerShell, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, endpoint security, backup solutions, RMM, and network monitoring platforms.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with Active Directory and Azure.
• Good understanding of networking and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Experience with virtualization, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a technical team.
• Microsoft, CompTIA, or Azure certifications are a plus.
