TOMRA was founded in 1972, based on the design, manufacturing and sale of reverse vending machines (RVMs) for automated collection of used beverage containers. Today TOMRA provides solutions that enable the circular economy with advanced collection and sorting systems, and food processing by employing sensor-based sorting and grading technology. At TOMRA, we value and encourage innovation, passion and responsibility in everything we do.
The TOMRA Group employs over 5,000 people globally and is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE: TOM). TOMRA was named Norway’s Most Innovative Business in 2023 & 2025, number one in the list of the country’s top 25 companies.
TOMRA Collection is a leading innovator in the circular economy and Clean Loop Recycling. Founded on the invention of the world's first reverse vending machine, we are now responsible for approximately 91,000 installations across more than 60 markets. By providing an effective and efficient way of collecting, sorting and processing containers, TOMRA's reverse vending systems make it easy for consumers to recycle and contribute to a more sustainable planet.
In the UK, we are currently building our local organisation and are at a very exciting point in our journey, with the launch of a UK Deposit Return Scheme in October 2027.
At TOMRA our reverse vending machines help millions of people recycle every day – and as we continue to grow across the UK, we’re looking for an experienced Lead Field Service Engineer to help install and keep our systems running at their best.
This is a hands-on, field-based role with real variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to support and mentor others as our UK service team scales.
As a Lead Field Service Engineer, you’ll be the face of TOMRA at customer sites across the UK. You’ll install, maintain, and repair our reverse vending machines, ensuring excellent uptime and customer experience. Once fully trained, you’ll also play a key role in supporting and onboarding new technicians, acting as a technical escalation point within the team.
The role involves regular UK travel, with overnight stays and visits to service hubs or offices.
What you’ll be doing
Shift or weekend work may be required as the service organisation continues to expand.
What we’re looking for
Experience with reverse vending machines or similar automated equipment is an advantage, but not essential – full training will be provided.
Previous experience supporting or training others is also beneficial.
Ready to make an impact?
If you’re a technically strong field engineer who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, and helping others succeed, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply now and help shape the future of recycling in the UK with TOMRA.
Deadline for applications is Sunday 12th April.
