As a Licensed Mental Health Clinician focused on Couples and Relationship Therapy, you will play a vital role in helping individuals and couples improve their relationships and resolve conflicts. You will work collaboratively with clients to develop tailored treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.
What You'll Do
- Provide individual and couples therapy sessions to address relationship issues and enhance communication.
- Conduct assessments to identify clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to facilitate positive change in clients' relationships.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Stay current with best practices in couples therapy and mental health treatment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- Valid state license as a mental health clinician (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, or LMFT).
- Experience in providing therapy to couples and individuals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a safe and supportive environment for clients.
- Commitment to ethical practice and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Active New York State license as an LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or other appropriately qualified mental health professional; clinicians with a limited permit may be considered based on their training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing couples therapy or specialized training in relationship counseling.
- Familiarity with evidence-based couples therapy approaches, such as the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), or Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT), preferred.
- Strong assessment, clinical documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a supportive clinical team.
- Commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, and ongoing professional development.
Nice to Have
- Additional certifications in couples therapy or related fields.
- Experience with diverse populations and cultural competency.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote therapy practices.
