Product Health Engineer – Product Health & Automation (AI) Location: Manila, Philippines Department: Shipboard Products – Product Health & Automation Employment Type: Contract About the Shipboard Products Team Royal Caribbean’s Shipboard Products team delivers innovative technology that powers unforgettable guest and crew experiences across our global fleet. We support the full lifecycle of shipboard applications—from concept to launch to ongoing performance—through a diverse group of Product Health & Automation Analysts, Engineers, and Technical Leaders. Our Manila-based Product Health & Automation function is expanding. This group is critical to keeping shipboard applications healthy, enabling efficient operations, and accelerating the future of automation and AI across Shipboard Products. Product Health & Automation is built on three core pillars: Product Health (Application Support): Ensuring the reliability and performance of shipboard applications through monitoring, incident resolution, and continuous improvement. Lab Operations: Supporting and maintaining our shipboard lab environments located in Manila and Miramar, Florida—enabling safe testing, validation, and experimentation of new shipboard products. Automation (AI & Process Automation): Developing automation, AI tooling, and intelligent workflows that increase efficiency, reduce manual support work, and improve product quality and performance. We are now hiring a Product Engineer with proven AI project experience to strengthen our Automation pillar and collaborate closely with Product Health and Lab groups. Role Summary The Product Engineer – Product Health & Automation (AI) will design, build, and support automation solutions and AI-driven capabilities that enhance the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of shipboard applications. You will work hands-on with AI models, automation frameworks, and support tooling to reduce manual tasks, streamline incident management, and enable faster product iteration. This role requires a strong engineering background, experience with LLM-based automation, and a passion for using modern tools—such as Claude, AWS Bedrock, and Microsoft Copilot—to transform support operations. You will collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Analysts, Engineers, and Lab teams across Manila and Miramar. Key Responsibilities Automation & AI Engineering Design, develop, and deploy automation solutions that improve application support processes, reduce manual workload, and enhance system reliability. Build AI-powered tools and workflows using platforms such as Claude, AWS Bedrock, Copilot Studio, and other LLM-supporting frameworks. Implement intelligent monitoring, anomaly detection, and automated remediation for shipboard applications. Create scripts, services, and integrations to support automated testing, diagnostics, triage, and reporting. Product Health Support Partner with the Product Health team to identify opportunities for automation across incidents, alerts, log analysis, and routine support tasks. Build tools that help support engineers and shipboard IT teams resolve issues faster. Collaborate on root-cause investigations and help implement permanent, automated solutions. Lab Environment Support Work closely with the Manila and Miramar Lab teams to automate lab workflows, deployments, environment resets, and data preparation. Ensure automation solutions are fully tested, validated, and compatible with shipboard environments. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work with product managers, shipboard technology teams, and engineering stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions. Participate in design reviews, sprint ceremonies, and product planning. Share knowledge and mentor team members on AI and automation best practices. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. 3+ years of experience in software engineering, automation engineering, or AI engineering. Hands-on experience developing solutions using one or more LLM/AI platforms such as: Claude (Anthropic) AWS Bedrock Microsoft Copilot / Copilot Studio Strong experience with Python, JavaScript/Node.js, or similar languages used in AI workflows and automation. Experience building APIs, integrations, and automation workflows. Familiarity with cloud services (AWS preferred). Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working with product support teams. Preferred Experience with observability tools, incident management tooling, or application support environments. Background working in agile product teams. Experience with automation frameworks (CI/CD, test automation, workflow automation). Understanding of shipboard or distributed operational environments is a plus.
