Position Overview:

The Salesforce Administrator II serves as a senior platform expert responsible for the strategic design, configuration, and optimization of the Salesforce ecosystem. This role goes beyond day-to-day administration to lead complex platform initiatives, drive AI-enabled automation, architect scalable solutions, and serve as a technical subject matter expert across the organization. The Salesforce Administrator II collaborates with functional leaders and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into innovative Salesforce solutions, govern platform health and data integrity, and mentor less experienced team members. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the platform continuously evolves to meet organizational needs and leverages emerging Salesforce capabilities—including Einstein AI, Agentforce, and Claude AI (Anthropic)—to maximize business value.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

System Administration:

  • Serve as the senior Salesforce platform owner, managing complex configuration, escalated support requests, and administrative needs across the organization with a focus on long-term scalability and platform governance.
  • Design and implement advanced Salesforce configuration including complex Flows, Custom Objects, Page Layouts, Record Types, Sandbox management, and sophisticated Security and Sharing models; lead release management and change governance processes.

User Management:

  • Architect and govern user management frameworks including permission sets, profiles, roles, public groups, and permission set groups; design least-privilege security models aligned with organizational structure.
  • Drive platform adoption through strategic training programs, in-app guidance, and analytics-informed interventions; establish adoption KPIs and report regularly to leadership on utilization trends.

Data Management:

  • Design and enforce enterprise data governance frameworks including validation rules, duplicate management strategies, and data quality standards; lead complex data migration and cleansing initiatives.
  • Execute and oversee data imports, mass updates, de-duplication campaigns, and backup/recovery procedures; evaluate and implement data management tools such as Data Loader, Informatica, or similar platforms.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Design and maintain advanced reports, dashboards, and Einstein Analytics/CRM Analytics solutions; leverage Claude AI to generate intelligent narrative summaries and data-driven insights delivered directly within the Salesforce interface.
  • Translate complex data into strategic recommendations; proactively identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities and present findings to business stakeholders and leadership.

System Enhancements:

  • Lead technical discovery and solution design sessions to identify, evaluate, and prioritize platform improvement opportunities; assess AppExchange solutions and third-party tools against build-vs-buy criteria.
  • Architect and deliver end-to-end Salesforce solutions—including new objects, automation, experience sites, and AI features—from requirements through deployment, following Salesforce best practices and change management protocols.

Integration Management:

  • Architect and manage integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems (HubSpot, ADP, ERP, telephony, etc.) using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware platforms, and native connectors; evaluate and recommend integration strategies.
  • Monitor integration health, proactively identify failure points, and lead root-cause analysis and resolution for complex cross-system issues; maintain integration documentation and runbooks.

Collaboration:

  • Serve as the senior Salesforce SME and technical lead for cross-functional projects; facilitate solution design workshops, translate business requirements into technical specifications, and ensure platform decisions align with long-term organizational strategy.
  • Lead project delivery in partnership with developers, consultants, and business stakeholders; mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance, code/configuration reviews, and knowledge transfer across the team.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

  • System Uptime: Maintain 99.9%+ platform uptime and proactively monitor system health; present quarterly platform stability reports to VP of Technology.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve 95%+ of standard support tickets within 24 hours and complex escalations within 48 hours; maintain ticket documentation and publish monthly resolution trend reports.
  • User Adoption: Drive and sustain 85%+ active platform utilization; deliver quarterly adoption scorecards with actionable improvement plans.
  • Data Accuracy: Maintain 99%+ data integrity as measured by monthly automated and manual audits; lead remediation efforts and report data quality trends to stakeholders.
  • Reporting & Insights: Deliver standard reporting requests within 24 hours and complex analytics solutions within 5 business days; develop self-service reporting capabilities to reduce ad hoc volume by 20%+ annually.
  • System Enhancements: Deliver a minimum of 4-6 platform improvements per quarter; ensure all enhancements are tracked in a change log with documented business impact and stakeholder sign-off.
  • Integration Uptime: Maintain 99.9%+ uptime for all Salesforce integrations; proactively monitor via system logs and alerting, and conduct bi-annual integration architecture reviews.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: Maintain 90%+ stakeholder satisfaction on platform support and enhancements as measured by quarterly pulse surveys; present results and action plans to VP of Technology.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM 201) required; additional certifications such as Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, or AI Associate/Specialist strongly preferred.
  • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: All candidates must be able to fulfill E-verify requirements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Deep expertise in Salesforce platform architecture, including advanced configuration, declarative automation, security models, governor limits, and multi-cloud design patterns.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent platform initiatives from discovery through deployment, applying structured project management discipline and communicating status proactively to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, influence without authority, and drive alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with a track record of solving complex, ambiguous business problems through innovative Salesforce solutions and data-driven decision making.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to executive audiences, facilitate requirements workshops, and produce high-quality documentation.
  • Ability to critically evaluate requirements from multiple stakeholders, reconcile competing priorities, decompose complex business needs into actionable technical specifications, and distinguish surface-level requests from underlying strategic objectives. Familiarity with Salesforce DevOps practices and release management tools (e.g., Gearset, Copado, or Salesforce DX) strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and their practical application within enterprise platforms, including Salesforce Einstein AI, Agentforce, and Claude AI (Anthropic). Ability to evaluate AI use cases, configure AI-driven automations, and integrate large language models (LLMs) via REST API or MuleSoft to enhance platform functionality, streamline workflows, and deliver intelligent user experiences.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator required.
  • Proven experience with Salesforce administration, including security, user setup, object management, and process automation.
  • Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools within Salesforce, including Einstein Copilot, Einstein Analytics, Agentforce, and Claude AI (Anthropic) via API or MuleSoft integration; ability to evaluate and implement emerging AI capabilities to drive automation, productivity, and insights.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time remote position. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Additional time outside of these hours may be needed to complete the essential functions of the job.
