This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior AI Engineer - REMOTE. In this role, you will design and develop conversational AI solutions that greatly enhance customer service experiences across various platforms. You will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and operational success of AI agents that autonomously resolve issues for customers in real-time. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of AI integration in post-purchase processes, ensuring that the systems are efficient, reliable, and meet user satisfaction metrics.
Accountabilities
- Design and build conversational AI agents for returns, claims, and customer service experiences.
- Own agent systems from architecture to implementation, evaluation, and production operations.
- Build context graph retrieval pipelines to ground agent responses in real company and customer data.
- Design agent orchestration for multi-step workflows that interact with various systems.
- Create evaluation frameworks to measure task completion, accuracy, safety, and user satisfaction.
- Implement guardrails and safety mechanisms such as content moderation and detection of issues.
- Integrate conversational experiences across web, mobile, SMS, and email channels.
- Make decisions around prompt design, model selection, and trade-offs in latency, cost, and quality.
- Collaborate with product, design, and ML teams to ensure technically sound and product-aware systems.
Requirements
- Experience shipping conversational AI or agent-based systems used in production.
- Proficiency in building production systems on LLM APIs and agent frameworks.
- Understanding of model selection trade-offs and implications of different APIs.
- Strong skill in prompt engineering and structured output methodologies.
- Experience with context graph pipelines and more advanced retrieval techniques.
- Ability to design agent architectures with function calling and tool execution.
- Strong programming skills in Python or TypeScript.
- Experience building and integrating APIs and backend services.
- Comfort in evaluating safety and reliability in non-deterministic systems.
- Natural initiative and comfort operating with ambiguity.
