Our client, a highly respected Commercial Lines Insurance Carrier, is expanding their Supermarket Division and seeking a relationship-driven Senior Production Underwriter to join their growing team. This is an opportunity to work alongside an established underwriting group focused on delivering tailored package solutions to supermarket and grocery-related risks while driving profitable growth through strong agency partnerships. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in admitted commercial package underwriting, exceptional agency relationship skills, and a proven production mindset. This role is best suited for an underwriter who enjoys being proactive with agents, identifying opportunities, discussing risks before quoting, and serving as a trusted underwriting partner. This position is fully remote with limited travel expectations!
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite and manage a profitable portfolio of commercial package business within the supermarket segment.
- Review new and renewal submissions to evaluate risk acceptability, pricing, coverage structure, and profitability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with agency partners to drive new business opportunities and retention.
- Proactively communicate with agents to discuss submissions, appetite, coverage considerations, and underwriting strategy.
- Analyze property, commercial auto, and general liability exposures while ensuring adherence to company underwriting guidelines.
- Identify opportunities to expand agency relationships and grow market share within the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with internal teams including claims, risk control, and product management to support business objectives.
- Maintain a strong production focus while balancing underwriting discipline and profitability goals.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to support underwriting decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and underwriting authority levels.
Qualifications

7 - 10+ years of Commercial Package Underwriting experience required.
- Prior experience underwriting admitted/ISO-based commercial business is required.
- Demonstrated success developing and maintaining agency relationships.
- Proven production-oriented mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive profitable growth.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative underwriting environment.
