Accountabilities
- Serve as lead data and privacy counsel for the US and Americas region.
- Provide business-oriented advice on data protection, AI, and cybersecurity.
- Spearhead global AI governance development and implementation.
- Develop and execute privacy and data protection compliance programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on privacy and security initiatives.
- Draft and negotiate data protection and data-sharing agreements.
- Oversee international data flows and ensure proper governance.
- Co-lead incident response for data and security incidents.
- Advise on high-risk processing activities involving new technologies.
- Support regulatory interactions with US and Americas authorities.
- Contribute to the development of privacy workflow tools and processes.
- Provide training on data privacy and cybersecurity for various teams.
Requirements
- U.S. legal qualification and active license to practice in one jurisdiction.
- 8+ years of experience in-house or private practice focused on data and privacy.
- Strong knowledge of US privacy laws and their intersection with financial regulations.
- Experience advising on adtech and consent management requirements.
- Proven ability to translate legal requirements into technical solutions.
- Familiarity with emerging AI legal requirements and governance best practices.
- Experience with data privacy incident management and remediation planning.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying legal concepts for non-lawyers.
- High degree of ownership and ability to manage multiple complex projects.
