Our client, a well-established and financially strong Property & Casualty insurance organization, is seeking to add a Senior Homeowner Property Underwriter to their growing team. This role plays a critical part in evaluating risk, supporting agency relationships, and driving profitable personal lines business. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in underwriting complex personal lines accounts while maintaining a strong service mindset. This is a fully remote position.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite personal lines insurance applications to determine risk acceptability, coverage, and pricing in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
- Review and make decisions on new business, endorsements, and renewal accounts, including higher-risk and complex exposures.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for underwriting decisions, including escalated or complex referrals.
- Analyze loss history and risk characteristics to support sound underwriting decisions and renewal strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners, providing guidance on coverage, eligibility, and underwriting appetite.
- Monitor agency performance, including profitability, retention, and growth, and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams including underwriting support, loss control, and business development to drive profitable growth.
- Assist agents with policy questions, quoting scenarios, and system navigation to ensure a seamless experience.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced underwriting staff.
- Maintain strong organizational practices while managing a high-volume workload across multiple priorities.
Qualifications
- 5 - 8+ years of personal lines homeowner property underwriting experience with demonstrated expertise in risk evaluation and pricing.
- Strong knowledge of personal lines products, underwriting guidelines, and coverage structures.
- Proven ability to handle complex underwriting scenarios and make sound business decisions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and contribute to profitability initiatives.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Experience with agency management systems or underwriting platforms is a plus.
