• 100% remote

• Part-time

• Fully flexible schedule

Evaluate inspection-focused AI systems on your own schedule and help improve how they read NDT data.

AI training is the human work behind artificial intelligence: experts read what a model produces, decide whether it is right, and write the feedback that makes the next version better. AI systems that handle inspection data are only as good as the people who check them, so the teams building them need experienced NDT inspectors who can read radiographs and scans, apply code-based acceptance criteria and explain the right call. This is part-time contract work done remotely on a flexible schedule.

What you'll do

• Interpret radiographic, ultrasonic and phased-array inspection results, plus magnetic particle and penetrant indications

• Assess weld flaws and component conditions, and recommend dispositions under the applicable acceptance criteria

• When an assignment calls for it, assess thermographic imagery or remote visual inspection footage

• Write technical reports that set out your findings, reasoning and recommended actions

Why this is worth your time

• Build practical inspection-AI evaluation skills while earning $60 an hour reviewing NDT data

• Work on AI systems that read real inspection material, from RT and UT results to weld indications

• Apply your NDT judgment to accept or reject calls and clear feedback that improves evaluation protocols

• Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute

Who this is for

• Active NDT Level II or Level III certification under ASNT or ISO 9712, in a relevant method (RT, UT or PAUT, MT, or PT)

• Eight or more years of direct experience interpreting NDT data: radiographs, MT or PT indications, ultrasonic or phased-array scans, and related data

• Inspection experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or power sector

• Working knowledge of AWS D1.1; API 510, 570, 653, and 1104; and ASME Sections V, VIII, and XI

• Sound judgment on accept or reject decisions under code-based weld defect criteria

• Clear written and verbal communication and detailed technical documentation skills, with the ability to do objective, quality-focused work on your own

• Fluent in English for technical reports and communication

• Helpful background includes experience evaluating thermography or remote visual inspection data; prior AI training work is not required.

Pay and details

• $60 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor

• Part-time, flexible schedule; fully remote, United States
