Senior Site Reliability Engineer (B2B Contract)

This is a remote position.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the global technology team of our pharmaceutical client in Prague. In this role, you will help ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of critical platforms and applications supporting global healthcare operations, including medicines, vaccines, and animal health solutions.

This is a strategic and hands-on engineering role combining platform reliability, cloud infrastructure, automation, and operational excellence. You will collaborate with international engineering teams and play a key role in modernizing cloud environments and operational practices.

What will you do?

• Lead reliability initiatives across production platforms and services
  
• Define and manage SLOs, SLIs, SLAs, error budgets, and availability targets
  
• Design and implement scalable, resilient cloud-native architectures
  
• Automate infrastructure and deployments using IaC and CI/CD best practices
  
• Build and maintain monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions
  
• Drive incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and postmortems
  
• Improve operational maturity through automation, runbooks, and best practices
  
• Mentor engineers and support knowledge sharing across teams
  
• Collaborate with product, security, platform, and vendor teams globally
  
• Perform capacity planning, performance optimization, and reliability analysis
  
• Maintain technical documentation and compliance-related artifacts where required
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevOps
  
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services (Azure/GCP is a plus)
  
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows
  
• Experience defining and operating SLOs, SLIs, SLAs, and error budgets
  
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as:
  • Prometheus
    
  • Grafana
    
  • ELK / EFK
    
  • OpenTelemetry
    
  • Distributed tracing solutions
    
• Scripting/programming experience in Python, Go, Bash, or PowerShell
  
• Good understanding of networking concepts:
  • VPCs
    
  • VPNs
    
  • Load balancers
    
  • Firewalls
    
• Experience with cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks
  
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  
• Experience working in global and cross-functional environments
  

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated industries such as pharma or healthcare
  
• Experience with cloud-native analytics or multi-tenant platforms
  
• Knowledge of platform engineering concepts
  
• Familiarity with Conversational BI, Power Platform, or AI/Copilot technologies
  
• AWS Professional, Kubernetes, or similar certifications
  
• Leadership or mentoring experience
