This is a remote position.

The founding team has a track record of building successful companies, and several team members have previously worked together. This has created a strong culture built on trust, execution, and shared conviction. The broader team is highly focused on bridging the gap between emerging AI capabilities and real-world product delivery.

The company operates as a remote-first organization with a distributed team of roughly several dozen employees and has raised significant venture funding, experiencing rapid growth over a short period.

Role Overview

As a senior engineer, you will contribute across the stack with a primary emphasis on backend systems. This includes designing, building, and maintaining scalable services and APIs, as well as contributing to product features end-to-end.

The current technology environment includes modern JavaScript frameworks, strongly typed languages, API-driven architectures, and a mix of relational and non-relational databases deployed on a major cloud provider.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement reliable, scalable backend systems.

  • Collaborate with other engineers to deliver complex product capabilities.

  • Maintain and extend integrations while ensuring systems can scale with growth.

  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues, bugs, and developer experience challenges.

  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in engineering practices and architecture.

Example initiatives may include improving how users interpret performance data, building unified data access layers, and handling large-scale ingestion of external data sources.

Requirements

Ideal Background

  • Several years of experience building and maintaining production-grade software systems.

  • Familiarity with modern web technologies and backend frameworks (exact stack is flexible).

  • Interest in incorporating AI tools into development workflows.

  • Experience with asynchronous processing systems or message queues.

  • Exposure to document-oriented databases or similar data storage systems.

  • Strong understanding of data modeling and data pipeline concepts.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Open to candidates from diverse educational and professional paths.

What Makes Someone Successful Here

  • Ownership mindset with accountability for decisions and outcomes.

  • Pragmatic approach focused on delivering value rather than perfection.

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

  • Strong individual contributor who also collaborates effectively within a team.

  • Flexible remote work with optional access to physical office hubs.

  • Strong growth trajectory backed by experienced founders and external funding.

  • Meaningful impact on product direction and company evolution.
