About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional to join our team as Specialist, Certified Collision. In this role, you will ensure safe, cost-effective, and brand-consistent repair decisions for client fleets. The Specialist analyzes collision repair estimates, provides direct repair guidance, negotiates costs, and serves as a subject matter expert for both clients and internal stakeholders. The position directly influences physical damage spend, cost avoidance, and client satisfaction.
What You'll Do
Review and analyze incoming estimates, photos, and repair documentation to determine the most efficient and safe repair approach.
Make cost decisions and recommendations for repair vs. replacement, balancing safety, brand image, and cost efficiency.
Communicate repair strategies and cost considerations to client contacts.
Present trends, anomalies, and behavioral indicators impacting damage costs.
Address inquiries and provide real-time advisory on repair decisions.
Serve as the SME for all collision repair practices across Element.
Participate in client meetings, business reviews, and internal discussions to advise on repair methodology and cost expectations.
Provide repair process guidance and best practice coaching to internal teams and cross-functional partners.
Perform other tasks as assigned, contributing to department goals and supporting company-wide initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 3 years experience in automotive body repair or collision estimating.
Ability to interpret OEM repair procedures and determine appropriate repair methodology.
Negotiation experience with in-network and out-of-network repair providers.
Ability to write, revise, and validate repair estimates and supplements.
Strong knowledge of vehicle anatomy and collision repair techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
College/University degree preferred.
Experience reviewing and negotiating repair estimates for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles preferred.
Physical Damage Appraiser license or equivalent experience preferred.
I-CAR certification preferred (or equivalent education/experience).
Familiarity with estimating systems and OEM procedures.
Ability to balance safety, cost, and policy considerations.
Location- US Remote
The hiring base salary range for this position is $60,400 - $83,050 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
