Zoho Solutions Consultant

CRM | Creator | Books | Inventory | Deluge | Integrations | Custom Development

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Zoho Solutions Consultant who can understand complex business requirements, design Zoho-based solutions, interact directly with clients and independently execute implementation and development projects.

This is not a conventional Zoho administration or configuration role. We are looking for someone who can work across business consulting, solution architecture, application implementation and custom development.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience in Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, Zoho Inventory and Zoho Creator, along with excellent knowledge of Deluge scripting, APIs, integrations, custom modules, widgets and extensions.

Experience working with manufacturing, trading, distribution or inventory-intensive businesses will be highly valued.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for understanding client business processes, conducting requirement discussions, identifying process gaps and translating business requirements into scalable Zoho solutions.

You will interact directly with clients, conduct discovery and solution discussions, prepare or contribute to Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Scope of Work (SOW), process flows and implementation plans, and take ownership of projects from requirement gathering through configuration, development, testing, UAT and go-live.

You will work extensively across Zoho applications and design integrations between applications such as Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, Zoho Inventory, Zoho Creator and Zoho People.

You will also be expected to develop custom solutions using Deluge, APIs, Creator, widgets and extensions, rather than relying only on standard product functionality.

Zoho CRM Experience

Strong hands-on experience in Zoho CRM implementation and customisation is required.

You should be comfortable working with modules, custom modules, layouts, fields, roles, profiles, permissions, workflows, Blueprint, approval processes, validation rules, custom functions, custom buttons, related lists, reports, dashboards and automation.

You should also have experience integrating CRM with other Zoho applications and external systems using APIs, Deluge and other integration mechanisms.

Zoho Books Experience

Strong implementation experience in Zoho Books is required, particularly for Indian businesses.

You should understand practical accounting and taxation processes involving GST, tax configuration, E-way Bill, invoicing, purchase and sales transactions, taxation-related accounting entries and reconciliation.

Experience with more complex business scenarios such as SEZ and Non-SEZ transactions, imports, exports, export documentation, import documentation, taxation treatment, accounting entries and related compliance processes will be highly preferred.

We are looking for someone who understands not only how to configure Zoho Books, but also why a particular transaction needs to be configured and accounted for in a particular manner.

Zoho Inventory Experience

Strong hands-on experience with Zoho Inventory implementation is one of the key requirements for this position.

You should have worked on inventory-intensive businesses involving multiple warehouses, multiple locations, stock transfers, purchase and sales processes, inventory adjustments, item management, warehouse mapping, integrations and automation.

Experience with large inventory databases and several lakhs of SKUs will be a significant advantage.

Candidates who have implemented Zoho Inventory for manufacturing, trading, wholesale, distribution or other high-volume inventory businesses will be strongly preferred.

You should understand the practical challenges associated with large item masters, data migration, warehouse structures, inventory synchronisation, bulk processing, integrations and maintaining data accuracy at scale.

Zoho Creator & Application Development

Strong development experience in Zoho Creator is required.

You should have independently built or significantly contributed to Creator applications involving forms, reports, pages, workflows, dashboards, custom functions, business logic, automation, role-based access, APIs and integrations.

You should also have experience integrating Creator with multiple Zoho applications, including CRM, Books, Inventory, People and other Zoho applications, and should be able to design appropriate data flows between these systems.

Deluge & Custom Development

Strong hands-on knowledge of Zoho Deluge scripting is essential.

You should be comfortable developing complex custom functions, workflows, scheduled functions, API integrations, data transformation logic, JSON-based integrations, automation, custom buttons and cross-application processes.

The expectation is that you should be able to write, understand, troubleshoot and optimise Deluge scripts, rather than only make minor changes to existing scripts.

Widgets, Extensions & Zoho Marketplace

This is an important differentiator for the role.

We are specifically looking for candidates who have created widgets and developed Zoho extensions, preferably using the Zoho Developer/Sigma ecosystem.

Candidates with experience creating extensions for Zoho CRM, Creator, Books, Inventory or other Zoho applications will be strongly preferred.

Experience with extensions that have been published on Zoho Marketplace will be a major advantage. Candidates who have published extensions should be prepared to showcase the published extension and explain their contribution to its development.

Zoho's current extension ecosystem supports development through Sigma, including public extensions that can be submitted to Zoho Marketplace for validation and listing.

Experience developing widgets is also important, particularly where widgets have been used to extend the standard capabilities of Zoho applications. Zoho supports widget development for applications including Books, and Sigma is used for extension development across several Zoho products.

Zoho People Experience

Experience with Zoho People will be required, with particular importance given to candidates who have worked on Performance Management.

You should have exposure to areas such as performance appraisal processes, goals/KRAs, review cycles, employee-manager workflows, performance evaluation and related automation or customisation.

Client Consulting & Business Analysis

This role requires significant client-facing experience.

You should have directly interacted with clients for at least two years, understood their business requirements, conducted discovery discussions, mapped existing processes, identified gaps and proposed appropriate Zoho solutions.

You should be comfortable communicating with business owners, senior management and functional stakeholders and explaining technical solutions in business language.

You should also have experience preparing or contributing to BRDs, SOWs, process documentation, solution designs and implementation plans.

Industries & Business Processes

Experience in manufacturing, trading, distribution, wholesale, retail or other inventory-intensive businesses will be highly preferred.

Exposure to complex business processes involving sales, purchase, inventory, warehousing, finance, taxation, manufacturing-related processes, imports, exports, SEZ transactions and multi-location operations will be an advantage.

What We Expect You to Be Able to Demonstrate

During the selection process, candidates may be asked to demonstrate actual work performed by them.

This may include a Zoho CRM implementation, Zoho Books implementation, Zoho Inventory implementation, Creator application, Deluge function, custom module, integration, widget or extension.

Candidates who have developed Marketplace extensions should be prepared to share the relevant Marketplace listing and explain the solution.

Where client confidentiality prevents demonstration of an actual client environment, a sanitised or demo environment may be used.

We are interested in what you have actually built and implemented, not only what products you have been exposed to.

Who Will Be a Strong Fit?

You will be a strong fit if you are someone who can understand a business problem, design the right Zoho architecture, configure the applications, write the required Deluge, build the custom solution, integrate multiple applications and explain the solution directly to the client.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked on multiple complex Zoho projects and can demonstrate real-world implementation experience.

A candidate with experience in Zoho CRM + Books + Inventory + Creator + Deluge + integrations + client consulting + custom development will be strongly preferred.

Experience with widgets, extensions and published Zoho Marketplace solutions will make your profile particularly attractive.

Requirements

Implementation Partner Experience

We strongly prefer candidates who have worked for a Zoho implementation partner, consulting organisation or system integrator rather than candidates whose experience has primarily been limited to managing Zoho internally within one company.

The reason is simple: implementation-partner experience generally provides exposure to multiple clients, industries, business processes and implementation scenarios.

You should ideally have worked on multiple Zoho implementation projects and be able to explain your specific role and contribution in those projects.

Education & Experience

A B.Tech / B.E. or equivalent technical qualification is preferred.

Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience is required, with preference for candidates who have spent at least two years in a Zoho implementation partner, consulting or system integration environment.

Candidates with a strong track record of multiple complex implementations may be considered based on the depth and quality of their experience.

Important

This position is intended for a hands-on Zoho implementation and development professional.

If your experience is primarily limited to Zoho administration, basic configuration, user management or simple workflow creation, this role may not be suitable.

If, however, you have implemented Zoho for multiple businesses, developed custom applications, written complex Deluge scripts, integrated multiple Zoho applications, worked directly with clients and built widgets or extensions, we would be very interested in speaking with you.
