001AHI - NodeJS Engineer

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
• Work with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and AlloyDB (GCP)
• Build and integrate event-driven systems using message brokers:
  • RabbitMQ, Kafka, AWS SQS
  • GCP Pub/Sub
• Implement search and indexing solutions using Elasticsearch / OpenSearch
• Integrate third-party services (authentication, storage, payments, AI APIs, etc.)
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Implement authentication & authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, RBAC)
• Design and implement caching strategies using Redis
• Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure seamless API integration
• Participate in code reviews, unit/integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability
• Implement logging, monitoring, and observability best practices

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience building REST APIs and backend services
• Hands-on experience with Express.js or NestJS
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture
• Experience with databases (MongoDB / PostgreSQL / MySQL)
• Familiarity with message queues and distributed systems
• Experience with Git and version control workflows
• Knowledge of Docker and containerized environments
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
• Strong understanding of API security best practices:
  • JWT, OAuth, rate limiting, input validation, secure coding

Good to Have

• Experience with microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with:
  • GCP Pub/Sub
  • AlloyDB (or managed PostgreSQL services)
  • Elasticsearch / OpenSearch
• Experience with Redis caching and performance tuning
• Familiarity with Kubernetes (GKE / EKS / AKS)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
• Exposure to AI/ML integrations (OpenAI, Vertex AI, etc.)
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, etc.)
• Basic understanding of React or Angular is a plus
