We are hiring a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and scale AI systems powering real-time healthcare products at Telepatia AI. This role focuses on building production-grade Python microservices, architecting AI agent pipelines, and integrating advanced LLM systems into clinical workflows. You will operate at the AI application layer, ensuring reliability, scalability, observability, and cost efficiency. The work directly impacts physicians by embedding AI seamlessly into real-time medical documentation and decision support systems.

Core Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and scale Python microservices (FastAPI) for real-time inference and structured data processing serving millions of users reliably
  • Architect and develop AI agent pipelines for reasoning, orchestration, and multi-step workflows
  • Implement LLM orchestration using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, PydanticAI, or custom-built solutions
  • Own AI systems end-to-end: design, deployment, monitoring, cost management, observability, and failure mode handling
  • Develop robust data pipelines and evaluation dashboards to monitor and continuously improve AI performance in production
  • Integrate models and pipelines into the Medical Scribe product, improving automation, reliability, and physician experience
  • Translate ambiguous clinician and product requirements into scalable AI system designs
  • Set technical standards and raise the engineering bar for AI system development 

Required Skills
  • Strong Python backend development
  • FastAPI experience
  • AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, PydanticAI or similar)
  • Experience with database systems: PostgreSQL, Firestore, graph databases, vector stores
  • Experience designing data pipelines and AI observability systems
  • Experience with LLM orchestration, AI agents, and multi-step reasoning pipelines
  • Strong experience with RAG systems, vector search, and knowledge graphs
  • Senior backend engineering experience at the AI application layer
  • Proven track record scaling AI systems to millions of users
  • Fluent English
