We’re seeking a detail-oriented and organized Associate Underwriter to join our team. Reporting to the Underwriting Manager, this role supports underwriting operations through accurate and timely policy processing, endorsements, audits, compliance activities, and coordination across underwriting and program teams.

 

The Associate Underwriter plays a key role in ensuring underwriting quality, regulatory adherence, and efficient execution across both in-house and program business.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and issue policies, endorsements, cancellations, and non-renewals in an accurate and timely manner
  • Review policy documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with underwriting guidelines
  • Apply appropriate forms, templates, and regulatory language across all policy transactions
  • Monitor workflows and support intake and routing of underwriting and servicing requests
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation within internal systems
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies, escalating issues when necessary
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and information requests
  • Support compliance reviews and ensure adherence to documentation standards
  • Assist with program servicing and policy lifecycle activities
  • Support renewal processing and tracking of key policies
  • Maintain underwriting tools, templates, and internal resources
  • Assist with reporting and performance tracking activities
  • Collaborate with underwriting, compliance, and operations teams to support business needs
  • Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in insurance, underwriting support, or a related role
  • Basic understanding of commercial insurance principles
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in documentation and processing
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability and sound judgment in resolving discrepancies
  • Experience working with AMS or policy administration systems preferred
  • Exposure to program business or regulatory/compliance processes preferred
  • Comfort working with AI-enabled tools to support workflow efficiency

Compensation Range: $55k/yr - $65k/yr
