CA Datacom/DB Database Administrator Remote

We are seeking an experienced CA Datacom/DB DBA to provide trusted technical guidance and help maintain continuity across a legacy banking estate.

This role suits a Datacom specialist who can work independently, respond quickly when issues arise and serve as a reliable contingency resource when additional expertise is needed.

What you’ll do

• Provide expert administration and support for CA Datacom/DB on IBM z/OS.
• Diagnose complex database issues and advise on performance tuning and resolution.
• Apply your knowledge of Datacom architecture and internals to assess risks and guide technical decisions.
• Support mainframe database migration activities where required.
• Investigate interactions between PL/I applications and Datacom.
• Step in promptly to provide hands-on support during critical incidents.

What you’ll bring

• 10–15 years’ experience as a CA Datacom/DB DBA.
• Deep knowledge of Datacom database administration, architecture and internals.
• Mainframe database migration experience.
• An understanding of PL/I and its interaction with Datacom.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Experience supporting legacy banking systems.
• The ability to operate independently with limited support.
