Our client is a UK-based growth and performance marketing business helping ambitious brands turn inconsistent marketing into predictable pipeline and revenue.
They are looking for a commercially minded Direct Response Copywriter who can write clear, persuasive, conversion-focused copy across ads, funnels, email, AI agents, SMS, WhatsApp, and other messaging channels.
This role is ideal for a confident writer who understands performance marketing, thinks strategically, and wants to create work that drives measurable business outcomes. You will work closely with Account Managers and the leadership team on active client accounts, turning strategy and briefs into high-performing copy that moves audiences to action.
Write paid advertising copy for channels such as Meta, LinkedIn, and short-form video.
Produce landing page and funnel copy designed to convert.
Create email sequences, including cold outreach, nurture campaigns, and lifecycle messaging.
Write AI agent scripts and conversational flows that feel natural, helpful, and on-brand.
Develop SMS and WhatsApp messaging journeys that guide users towards action.
Adapt copy based on funnel stage, audience intent, channel behaviour, and client tone of voice.
Work directly with Account Managers and leadership on active client campaigns.
Translate strategy, briefs, and campaign objectives into clear, persuasive messaging.
Join internal strategy discussions and selected client calls where required.
Challenge vague feedback or weak direction constructively to improve the work.
Create briefs for designers and creative teams, contributing ideas for campaign execution.
Review performance feedback and adjust hooks, angles, messaging, and formats accordingly.
Use AI tools to speed up drafting, scale frameworks, and maintain brand voice consistency.
Ensure messaging aligns with consent, data use, and compliance expectations, particularly around GDPR, automated conversations, data capture, SMS, and WhatsApp outreach.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience writing conversion-focused direct response copy.
Strong understanding of performance marketing fundamentals.
Experience writing across multiple channels, including email, ads, landing pages, and messaging.
Ability to think in funnels rather than isolated assets.
Confident explaining why copy works, why it does not, and how to improve it.
Strong understanding of buyer psychology and how to tell a brand story from the customer’s perspective.
Experience with email and lifecycle marketing.
Comfortable using AI tools to support copywriting, research, ideation, and workflow efficiency.
Able to take ownership of outcomes and work to a consistently high standard.
Confident giving and receiving direct, constructive feedback.
Committed to continuous learning and staying up to date with new tools, trends, and marketing approaches.
AI, chatbot, paid ads, or Video Sales Letter experience would be advantageous.
