Role Type: Full-Time | Remote
Reports To: Senior Mortgage Broker / Operations Manager
Salary: R30 000 per month (Non-Negotiable)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly capable Mortgage Operations Assistant to join our growing team, with a clear and supported pathway toward becoming a Para-Broker.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on detail, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to build a long-term career in mortgage broking within a values-driven, people-focused business.

Initially, the role focuses on operational support, loan processing, and file management, ensuring client applications are handled with accuracy and professionalism. As the successful candidate develops their knowledge and experience, the position will progressively expand into analytical and advisory support, ultimately transitioning into a Para-Broker role.

Full training, mentorship, and funded professional education — including support toward a Certificate IV in Mortgage and Finance Broking — will be provided.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Data entry and mortgage application preparation within lender and aggregator systems
  • Collecting, organising, and verifying client documentation
  • Conducting quality control checks to ensure compliance, accuracy, and consistency
  • Supporting loan applications through the settlement process and tracking milestones
  • Managing client follow-ups before and after settlement
  • Processing construction drawdowns and related documentation
  • Providing updates to referral partners throughout application, settlement, and construction stages
  • Maintaining accurate and organised client files and records
  • Ensuring all operational processes and compliance procedures are followed
  • Assisting mortgage brokers with administrative and operational tasks
  • Supporting the analysis of lending scenarios and borrower information as the role progresses
  • Contributing to the preparation of lending comparisons and borrower capacity assessments (future development)

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience in administration, finance, banking, mortgage processing, or loan support is advantageous
  • Experience working with CRM systems, financial software, or document management systems
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
  • Exposure to mortgage broking, lending, or financial services is beneficial but not essential
  • Willingness to complete Certificate IV in Mortgage and Finance Broking (training provided)
