We are currently seeking a Research and Data Coordinator to support attorneys and business professionals in leveraging the firm’s extensive knowledge resources to deliver exceptional client service.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented, intellectually curious, and motivated to build a career in legal research or competitive intelligence.

This position can be based in Charleston, WV; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Florence, KY; Houston, TX; Indianapolis, IN, Lexington, KY; Louisville, KY; Nashville, TN; Pittsburgh, PA; Washington, D.C.; or West Chester, OH.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the financial management of the department including processing invoices for payment, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Coordinate the administration of knowledge resource subscriptions including managing user accounts for various research databases and tools, maintaining intranet pages, and corresponding with vendors to troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Actively support research services by performing company searches, new business intake reviews, document retrievals and assisting the Competitive Intelligence Manager and Research Manager with additional projects as assigned.
  • Compile data on research database utilization and assist with preparing usage reports for leadership.
  • Coordinate vendor demonstrations, product trials, and training sessions for attorneys and business professionals.
  • Coordinate renewal tracking and contract documentation for research subscriptions.
  • Assist with identifying opportunities to provide enhanced efficiency and quality in our legal service delivery through innovative use of people, process, and technology.
  • Assist the Data and Innovation Department with special projects as requested.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Technology, Business, Political Science, or a related field with a genuine interest in research and legal information management and a desire to build a career in legal research or competitive intelligence. 
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills, ability to manage workload with moderate supervision.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office, including Excel.
  • Confident and adept at using new information systems, taking ownership of own learning.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices in the field.

The pay range for this role accounts for the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. For applicants physically based in Washington, D.C., a reasonable estimate of the current range is $26.45 - $29.80 hourly.  Actual pay will be determined based on skills, relevant experience and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable employment laws.
