SAP PP with Variant Configuration

We are seeking an experienced SAP PP Consultant with strong Variant Configuration (VC) expertise to support SAP manufacturing processes for complex and highly configurable products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Bill of Materials (BOM), Bill of Process (BOP), Routing, Production Planning, and CTO/ETO manufacturing models.

The consultant will work closely with business, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and IT teams to design, implement, and support configuration-driven manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Configure, implement, and support SAP PP manufacturing and production planning processes.

Provide hands-on expertise in SAP Variant Configuration (VC) for configurable products.

Design, configure, and maintain Manufacturing BOMs and configuration-dependent BOM structures.

Develop and maintain Bill of Process (BOP) structures supporting configurable manufacturing.

Configure and maintain Routings, Operations, Work Centers, and Production Versions.

Support configuration-based selection and determination of BOM components and manufacturing operations.

Support Configure-to-Order (CTO) and Engineer-to-Order (ETO) business processes.

Configure and maintain Characteristics, Classes, Dependencies, Constraints, and Configuration Profiles.

Support integration between Variant Configuration, BOM, Routing, Production Orders, and manufacturing execution processes.

Analyze and resolve issues related to BOM explosion, routing determination, production orders, and product configuration.

Work with engineering teams to translate product structures and engineering requirements into SAP manufacturing processes.

Collaborate with SAP SD, MM, QM, and other functional teams for end-to-end process integration.

Gather business requirements and translate them into SAP functional solutions.

Prepare functional specifications and work with ABAP/technical teams on enhancements and interfaces.

Lead or participate in SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect resolution, and deployment activities.

Provide production support and troubleshoot complex SAP PP/VC issues.

Identify opportunities to improve and standardize configurable manufacturing processes.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience in SAP PP.

Strong hands-on experience with SAP Variant Configuration (VC).

Excellent understanding of SAP manufacturing processes.

Strong experience with Bill of Materials (BOM).

Strong experience with Bill of Process (BOP).

Hands-on experience with SAP Routing, Operations, Work Centers, and Production Versions.

Experience with configuration-dependent BOM and routing determination.

Proven experience with Configure-to-Order (CTO) processes.

Proven experience with Engineer-to-Order (ETO) processes.

Experience with Characteristics, Classes, Dependencies, Constraints, and Configuration Profiles.

Strong understanding of production planning and production order processes.

Experience integrating SAP PP/VC with SAP SD and MM.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
