Introduction

Siyazama Management & Consulting is seeking a highly capable, commercially astute, and technically strong Senior B-BBEE Consultant to join our growing consulting team.

This is a senior client-facing role for an experienced professional who can independently manage a portfolio of clients, provide high-level B-BBEE strategic advice, oversee compliance and verification readiness, and deliver measurable transformation outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding clients through the full B-BBEE advisory cycle, including scorecard optimisation, gap analyses, strategic planning, implementation support, verification preparation, learnership and skills development advisory, and broader compliance-related consulting.

We are looking for a consultant who combines strong technical knowledge of the Codes of Good Practice and sector codes with excellent advisory ability, commercial awareness, and the confidence to engage professionally with business owners, executives, HR teams, finance teams, procurement teams, and verification stakeholders.

This role is ideal for a driven and experienced B-BBEE specialist who enjoys solving complex client challenges, managing multiple portfolios, and delivering practical, high-value consulting solutions that support compliance, competitiveness, and long-term client retention.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Senior B-BBEE Consultant will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage a portfolio of B-BBEE consulting clients across multiple industries and varying levels of complexity.
  • Provide strategic B-BBEE advisory services aligned to each client’s operational structure, commercial objectives, industry position, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct detailed B-BBEE gap analyses and develop practical, commercially sound strategic plans for implementation.
  • Analyse and optimise client scorecards across the relevant B-BBEE elements, including ownership, management control, skills development, enterprise and supplier development, socio-economic development, and preferential procurement.
  • Interpret and apply the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice, sector codes, gazettes, and relevant interpretive principles with a high level of technical accuracy.
  • Prepare, review, and oversee verification-readiness processes, including the structuring and quality control of verification files and supporting evidence.
  • Identify risks, compliance gaps, documentation issues, and missed scoring opportunities, and implement corrective action plans with clients.
  • Support clients through annual compliance cycles, verification preparation, implementation planning, and ongoing advisory engagements.
  • Develop client-specific B-BBEE strategies, action plans, project plans, and progress tracking mechanisms.
  • Assist clients with learnership strategy, skills development planning, and the identification and sale of learnership opportunities where applicable.
  • Support the preparation of submissions, technical schedules, and documentation required for B-BBEE projects and verification processes.
  • Provide guidance on taxation-related benefit calculations and value opportunities linked to qualifying B-BBEE initiatives, where relevant.
  • Deliver high-quality client presentations, technical reports, score simulations, strategic recommendations, and advisory feedback.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure service excellence, client satisfaction, and long-term retention.
  • Proactively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the client portfolio.
  • Contribute to new business acquisition through consultations, solution design, technical input, and proposal support.
  • Mentor and support junior consultants where required and contribute to the overall technical quality and consulting standards of the business.
  • Manage multiple deadlines, projects, and client priorities with a strong focus on responsiveness, professionalism, and delivery quality.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum requirements for the role are as follows:

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in B-BBEE consulting, advisory, compliance, strategy, or verification preparation.
  • Proven experience managing multiple client portfolios simultaneously.
  • Proven track record in B-BBEE strategy development, scorecard optimisation, compliance oversight, and verification readiness.
  • Strong working knowledge of the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice and applicable sector codes.
  • Proven experience conducting gap analyses, developing strategic plans, and supporting implementation.
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing verification files, supporting evidence, and related compliance documentation.

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional client engagement and report writing.
  • Strong administrative discipline, attention to detail, and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Experience in learnership advisory, skills development planning, ownership strategy, taxation-related benefit calculations, or broader transformation consulting will be advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and reporting-based work.
  • Contactable references are required.
  • Own vehicle is essential.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to travel to clients when required.
