We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior C# / .NET Developer for an exciting 3-month fixed-term contract with an established UK-based software technology business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a new Compliance module within an existing payroll and billing platform used by recruitment agencies.

This is a hands-on development opportunity suited to a technically strong developer who is comfortable working within complex, established systems and actively uses AI-assisted coding tools, preferably Claude Code, to accelerate development without compromising code quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement a Compliance module within an existing enterprise application.

  • Develop and maintain solutions using C#, .NET 8, ASP.NET Core MVC, Entity Framework Core and SQL Server.

  • Work within an established, large-scale codebase, adhering to existing architecture and development standards.

  • Develop compliance functionality covering document management, identity verification, professional registrations, qualifications and mandatory training.

  • Build and maintain database structures, migrations, background processing jobs and automated workflows.

  • Develop integrations with third-party services and external APIs, including SOAP/XML interfaces.

  • Implement compliance checks and controls that integrate with existing payroll and invoicing processes.

  • Develop secure document storage, audit trails, reporting functionality and data protection features.

  • Use AI-assisted development tools to plan, develop, review and test code efficiently.

  • Write and maintain comprehensive unit tests to ensure functionality, reliability and code quality.

  • Collaborate remotely with the development team and provide structured progress reports against agreed deliverables.

  • Support system testing, troubleshooting, defect resolution and implementation.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Minimum 5 years' commercial experience in C# / .NET development.

  • Strong practical experience with ASP.NET Core MVC, Entity Framework Core and Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Proven experience working within large, existing enterprise applications.

  • Demonstrable, hands-on experience using AI coding tools on live development projects.

  • Experience with Claude Code will be highly advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of database design, EF Core migrations and multi-tenant systems.

  • Experience developing and maintaining unit tests, preferably using xUnit.

  • Experience with background processing, APIs and system integrations.

  • Ability to work independently, follow detailed technical specifications and deliver against tight deadlines.

  • Excellent written English communication and structured reporting skills.

  • Availability to work remotely with an overlap of at least 10:00–16:00 UK time.

This position requires genuine practical experience with AI coding tools, not simply an interest in AI technology.

  • 3-month fixed-term contract commencing January 2027.
