Role Responsibilities
• Design, set up, maintain, and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, making
architectural decisions that ensure scalability, security, and reliability.
• Work closely with the development team to interpret technical requirements from briefs,
advising on infrastructure, database design, APIs, and deployment strategies.
• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment processes to support a
growing suite of Symfony, Laravel, React, Electron, and Python applications.
• Maintain, monitor, and optimise our existing PHP-based platform from an infrastructure,
performance, and reliability perspective.
• Collaborate with developers to design and support robust database structures, caching
strategies, and API architectures.
• Proactively identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across cloud resources without
compromising performance or availability.
• Plan and coordinate with the Head of Development using architecture diagrams,
infrastructure documentation, and technical proposals.
• Ensure platform security, availability, and observability through monitoring, logging, alerting,
and incident response practices.
• Assist in technical risk assessments related to scalability, performance, security, and cross-
environment constraints.
• Support the evolution of new API platforms and infrastructure initiatives, ensuring they are
production-ready, maintainable, and future-proof.

• Excellent oral and written communicator, able to explain technical concepts clearly to
developers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong curiosity and foresight into emerging technologies, cloud platforms, and DevOps
practices, with a clear motivation to continue learning and improving.
• Collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with developers to build, maintain, and
scale reliable infrastructure that supports a globally used platform.
• Ability to research, evaluate, and implement new technologies, industry practices, and
integrations, particularly around cloud services, APIs, and automation.
• Proactive in suggesting ideas, improvements, and architectural approaches that can elevate
platform performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Excited to join an in-house development team, learning through peer-to-peer collaboration
and contributing to the long-term evolution of our platform and infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of the principles behind scalable, secure, and highly available systems,
with practical experience supporting PHP-based applications and modern web stacks.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills when investigating infrastructure issues,
performance bottlenecks, or deployment failures.
• Comfortable working with documentation, tooling, and day-to-day operational systems,
including standard productivity and project management tools.
• Able to achieve results independently while also valuing shared ownership, teamwork, and
collective responsibility for platform stability and success.
