Job Purpose
The Team Lead, IT Quality Assurance Engineer plays a critical role in the successful execution of Tungsten Automation’s technology roadmap. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding and developing a high‑performing QA group while actively contributing to hands‑on testing, automation, and quality‑driven delivery. Acting in a player‑coach capacity, the role balances leadership responsibilities with direct technical participation, ensuring both the strategic direction and day‑to‑day execution of quality assurance activities are delivered with excellence.
The Team Lead oversees test planning, execution, automation strategies, and quality standards across multiple projects and product teams. They mentor QA engineers, drive continuous improvement, and enforce best practices in testing, documentation, and defect management. This role collaborates closely with IT delivery teams and business stakeholders to ensure consistent, reliable, and scalable outcomes that align with organizational technology objectives.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead, mentor, and develop a high impact team of QA engineers to support the successful execution of the cross-functional technology roadmap.
· Act as a player‑coach by performing hands‑on testing and automation work alongside the team, including test case development, execution, and automation scripting.
· Oversee the planning, design, and execution of test strategies across functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
· Drive the adoption and enhancement of test automation frameworks and reusable test assets.
· Ensure high‑quality test documentation including plans, cases, scripts, and traceability artifacts.
· Define and enforce QA standards, processes, and governance measures across delivery teams.
· Lead root-cause analysis for defects, incidents, and recurring quality issues.
· Partner closely with IT delivery teams and business stakeholders to ensure test coverage and alignment with requirements.
· Leverage AI testing solutions and functionality to further elevate the QA practice and team delivery.
· Enhance and maintain automation frameworks (UI, API, performance, etc.).
· Validate complex integrations, data flows, and system behaviors across environments.
· Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
· Participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, release planning, and design discussions.
· Ensure timely and accurate reporting of testing status, risks, and quality metrics.
· Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Manage team workload, resource allocation, and prioritization across multiple projects.
· Facilitate knowledge sharing, cross-training, and adoption of best practices.
· Identify and implement improvements to QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
· Champion modern testing approaches (shift-left, risk-based testing, exploratory testing).
· Stay current on emerging QA technologies, automation tools, and industry best practices.
