Our client is a solution-oriented engineering company with extensive international experience in designing and fabricating membrane filtration systems and components. The firm focuses on the design, build, and supply of customized membrane process plants for liquid/solid and liquid/liquid separation. They deliver advanced engineering solutions across South Africa and abroad.

The Role: Process Engineer

The purpose of this role is to execute various engineering tasks and duties on behalf of the firm. Operating in a 100% home office capacity in Cape Town, the successful candidate will support project development, process design, costing, and project management. This role contributes directly to the business by executing engineering projects, overseeing test runs, and ensuring after-sales and client liaison support.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering projects and manage process design and costing.

  • Execute project management, project-related tasks, site works, and SHEQ matters.

  • Run laboratory and pilot plant operations during R&D tasks, including test run preparation, execution, data capturing, and report formulation.

  • Manage quotations, tenders, and sales support, including enquiry reviews and service contract sales.

  • Liaise with clients and suppliers, including carrying out site visits.

  • Oversee and mentor junior process engineers.

  • Perform engineering-related administration tasks and support marketing efforts.

Desired Experience & Qualification

About You

  • Possession of the relevant years of process engineering experience required to operate independently and mentor junior staff.

  • Technical expertise in process design, costing, and project management.

  • Experience in R&D tasks, laboratory operations, or pilot plant testing, including data capturing and report formulation.

  • Experience with client and supplier liaison, tender management, and sales support.

  • Self-motivated and highly organized mindset to succeed in a 100% home office role.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills to manage clients and support junior team members.
