Role Mission
We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer with a strong background in travel tech, particularly in online booking engines, group travel, and eCommerce. In this role, you’ll optimize critical systems for UJV, including CRM systems, pipeline management, and Book of Business Management, to improve operational efficiency and enhance client experiences. You'll work on building scalable applications with a tech stack that includes PHP, Laravel, MySQL, and modern JavaScript frameworks, in an agile, fast-paced environment where we ship daily with an emphasis on usability and performance.
You Will:
- Design, develop and maintain features across the full stack: React/Next.js, NestJS middleware, and PHP Laravel services (Admin, Payments, SSO, Product Vault).
- Contribute to the migration of the legacy Node.js API Gateway (AWS Lambda) to the new NestJS-based platform with Redis and message queues.
- Define and implement scalable architecture patterns for both backend services and frontend components.
- Integrate and leverage AI-powered tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate development and support internal workflows.
- Collaborate proactively in a remote-first environment: communicate blockers, document decisions, participate in technical discussions.
- Contribute to DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerization, infrastructure as code.
- Apply travel/hospitality domain knowledge to inform product decisions, data models, and integrations.
-
Support UX/UI discussions where technical constraints intersect with user experience.
This Job is for You If:
-
You thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
-
You have 5-7 years of experience in full-stack development, with expertise in travel tech (online booking engines, group travel, eCommerce).
- You’re passionate about building scalable systems that support business operations and deliver reliable user experiences.
-
You have strong experience developing and maintaining modular PHP Laravel applications, including hands-on experience with Livewire and Filament.
-
You are experienced integrating external hotel availability suppliers such as HBSI, Expedia, or similar travel industry APIs.
-
You have strong knowledge of MySQL, including writing migrations, optimizing query performance, and managing relational databases.
-
You are comfortable working with Docker-based local development environments and contributing to infrastructure and deployment workflows.
-
You have experience with AWS services such as ECS, RDS, S3, and deployment pipelines.
-
You are experienced designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs.
-
You write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using tools such as Pest and/or PHPUnit to ensure code quality and reliability.
- You are confident diagnosing and resolving production incidents, system failures, and performance issues while minimizing downtime.
-
You can support frontend development work using React and Tailwind CSS.
- You are proficient with Git/GitHub, including commits, branches, pull requests, and collaborative development workflows.
- You have experience with agile development practices, debugging, testing, and cross-functional collaboration.
- You’re a curious learner who enjoys improving systems, exploring new technologies, and contributing ideas and best practices.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience in the travel, hospitality, or hotel booking industry.
- Experience working with third-party supplier integrations and availability systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
