DescriptionCiklum is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our team full-time in Ukraine.
We are a custom product engineering company that supports both multinational organizations and scaling startups to solve their most complex business challenges. With a global team of over 4,000 highly skilled developers, consultants, analysts and product owners, we engineer technology that redefines industries and shapes the way people live.
About the role:
As a Senior Java Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. ou will drive the migration off Salesforce as a system of record for several core domains into purpose-built Java microservices backed by PostgreSQL. You own the data side of that migration end-to-end extraction, target-side modelling, the migration pipeline, and the parallel-run reconciliation that proves the migration is correct before cutover.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory the Salesforce data footprint relevant to each bounded context — objects, fields, relationships, automations, validation rules. Document what has to come out and what stays behind
- Design PostgreSQL target schemas that match the new microservices bounded contexts — not the legacy Salesforce shape
- Build the migration pipeline — extract via Salesforce Bulk API, transform, load, and verify. Idempotent, restartable, observable
- Run parallel-run reconciliation: the new system and Salesforce are both writing for a defined window, and you prove they agree before cutover
- Own data-quality gates and rollback playbooks. Cutover is a non-event because you've already proven the data is right
- Partner with the backend engineers on the contracts at the boundary — data ownership, eventual consistency, and idempotency
- Build the dashboards that show migration progress and reconciliation health to leadership
Requirements:
- Backend & Data: Java 21, Spring Boot 3, and PostgreSQL
- Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS cloud-native environments (including VPCs, IAM, ECS/EKS, RDS, SNS/SQS, EventBridge) and GitHub Actions for CI/CD
- Async Messaging: Expertise in event flows and streaming using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SNS/SQS
- Observability: Built-in observability using OpenTelemetry, Datadog, and Grafana. This includes JSON-structured logging (never println), distributed tracing across service hops, and symptom-based alerting tied to Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
- AI Integration: Hands-on experience with AI agents, LangGraph, and multi-agent orchestration
- Language Skills: Upper-Intermediate (B2+) or Advanced (C1) level of English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
What`s in it for you?
- Strong community: Work alongside top professionals in a friendly, open-door environment
- Growth focus: Take on large-scale projects with a global impact and expand your expertise
- Tailored learning: Boost your skills with internal events (meetups, conferences, workshops), Udemy access, language courses, and company-paid certifications

- Care: We’ve got you covered with company-paid medical insurance, mental health support, and financial & legal consultations
